"Circle the Suffering is a devout metalcore band which hails out of Sherrill, NY. Founding members Fred Turner, guitarist, and Drew Marcellus, vocalist, first met at the local watering hole. Acquainted with one another through their days at Morrisville State College, and both having recently disbanded from previous musical endeavors, conversation between the two inevitably led to the business of forming a new project. From its conception near the end of Summer 2011, at which time the two musicians exchanged handfuls of individually written material, it became clear that a heavy metallurgical storm was brewing. In setting out to discover the perfect rhythm keeper, the demands were found in drummer, Kyle Hjort, the sibling of Drew's former lady-friend. Just one practice was all it took. Straight from the outset of their first jam session, the chemistry was wholly apparent. After plugging away for a couple of months, Kyle’s friend and guitarist, Ryan Walsh, was dragged into the Circle to watch a session and was instantly enraptured. With three full songs under their belt and a new guitarist adding his weight to the scales, Circle the Suffering was rapidly composing new material as a four piece. Countless auditions for a bassist roped in references to Pete Phillips, and the finishing touches were finally in place. Pete has since been replaced on bass by Steve Geer. At present, Circle the Suffering has generated a well-rounded set list and remains extremely active in the Central New York area and beyond. They have shared the stage with the likes of Sworn Enemy, Thoughts In Reverse, and A Fight for Life to name a few. Tearing through the metal scene with an alchemy of unique melodies, solid harmonies, and vicious breakdowns, you can count on Circle the Suffering to dole out something truly inventive around every bend."
